Rolling Stone Magazine App Reviews

Great content - lousy app

You need to restore constantly which may - may not work. Landscape mode poorly supported.

Good app

In general is a good app, but some time is glitchy and you have to reinstall it to make it work

Previously downloaded June 16, 2016 issue availability stopped with the July 1, 2016 issue download

I opened my app to read the June 16, 2016 (Hamilton) issue and then the Muhammad Ali (July 1, 2016) issue downloaded. The Hamilton issue has effectively been lost, because the little progress download wheel just spins. I hope that this app is fixed soon. Rolling Stone Customer Support has responded via email to my request for help in the past. As a reminder, they cannot fix digital subscriptions purchased through iTunes. We must contact iTunes support. For once could they pre-test updates before releasing them. Hopefully they will fix this app and access to the Hamilton issue soon.

Way too difficult to subscribe!

All I wanted was to read the RS mag on my iPad. Had to spend many wasted minutes on the phone with RS only to be told i needed to talk to apple. Dont they want to sell magazine subscriptions?

Still good on iPhone

I dont understand why the iPhone app still works pretty much like the old iPad app, but RS does not continue to make a decent app available for iPad. That being said, the latest issue refuses to download on either device. Think Im going back to the print edition.

Small fonts kill me...jerks and assholes

Bunch of assholes killing a great magazine with stupid minuscule fonts.

Terrible

This app is nothing more than a pdf reader. It is terrible, horrible, no good, and very bad all at once. There is no article view so you have to read very small font and you have to turn he page to read the articles. This is very aggravating when an article finishes on the last page of the magazine. Ive canceled my subscription through this app and will try another.

Old Rocker RS Review

The articles are well written and love the music reviews but miss the links to music samples and video clips.

It is just fine.

It does what its supposed to do

Rooten

Rotten app. They steal your old issues and refuse to give you access. A disgrace.

Terrible

I have not been able to read the last three issues. I just get a spinner. I see other reviews saying the same thing. Ive deleted and installed the app a several times and no luck. Im done with Rolling Stones. This app is embarrassing.

Horrendous App

Terrible app and customer experience. The app simply doesnt work, save your money and dont get a digital subscription. You call Rolling Stone customer service and they direct you to iTunes. You call iTunes customer service and they direct you to Rolling Stone, its an endless loop where nobody has any idea what is going on. I havent been able to access an issue in months. I download and issue and then it just spins when trying to pull up content.

The thrill is in not knowing if I can read it today

What a buggy, disappointing app. Its 30/70 each time I try to download and read an issue - one of which Ive paid for, mind. Its frustrating to the point where I uninstalled the thing to stop getting my hopes up about reading it again. What a joke. No more money for you, Rolling Stone.

Worst app, want to love it for old times sake

Forget that the app crashes all of the time, stories dont load and they are pretty lame when they do. Such an iconic pub but way out touch digitally. It should be a source of music discovery. The magazine is still worth reading. Figure it out RS, otherwise you wont live to the next decade. Millions of aging boomers are rooting that milenials will feel the same in 30 years.

Fine WHEN IT WORKS

Half the time I use the app it does not recognize my subscription and wants me to pay again. All attempts to fix (log out and in, reinstall, etc.) do not work. Only support is email with two-day turnaround. Subscription services are from the 1970s. Ugh. Talk about suffering for your art.

New app

Terrible, I want the old app back!!

Worst app Ive ever had to use

This app and the service and support I have not received make this the worst I have ever had to use for one of the best and most favorite of my magazines. Why cant it hold the last page I was reading, for instance? And why has it all of a sudden been crammed into such a small space? The earlier versions were so much better, and I never had the problems that I have had with this one. And one of the issues took two months of hassling the support service before it was finally downloadable. Fix the problems or Im not renewing. Id rather read the print version.

New version terrible

The updated App is terrible. Plain and simple it doesnt work well. Previous version worked great. Im done. Sorry RS. You continue to spiral down hill.

App doesnt work.

This app no longer works on iPhone or iPad

Rolling Stone- R.I.P (1970-2016)

Ive never subscribed bc I enjoyed just buying it starting at the College Store (the only place you could 1st buy it) and now at B&N which is just down the street. Ive been reading the daily headlines online especially 4 obits, sadly enough. Now the app is dead. So, I think its time to tell Jann, Lester & the RS staff auf weidersein. The last issue is going in the box along with the rest. I sworn to quit ever since they starting looking like a fashion rag & then when they gave up the newspaper style. Bye Bye Ms American Pie.
